Regency Verifies Data of Residents Affected by Oil Spills

Thousand Islands Regency together with Environment Ministry, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Ministry, Pertamina, and independent team from universities are clarifying and verifying data of residents who are affected due to oil spills from Karawang that spread to South Thousand Islands sea.

Hopefully we can finish its verification by this weekend

Thousand Islands Regent, Husein Murad conveyed, data verification is needed for processing compensation that will be given to affected residents.

"We are currently collecting the data. Hopefully we can finish its verification by this weekend," he asserted, Thursday (9/5).

Oil Spills Around Pari Island and Lancang Island Cleaned

He informed, oil spills reaches to Edam Island, Ayer Island, Bidadari Island, Onrust Island, Kelor Island, Untung Jawa Island, Rambut Island, and Lancang Island which are located in two urban villages. From those islands, his side has verified 412 affected residents from Untung Jawa Island Urban Village and 308 residents from Pari Island Urban Village.

"I remind our residents for not worrying this case to much. Because after all data have been verified, Pertamina will give them compensation," he stated.
